I'm a software engineer with a fairly wide range — I've built AI systems, dug into security operations, written a programming language in Rust, and shipped a game in Unity. Not the typical career path, but that's sort of the point.

Most of my projects start with a question I can't shake. "Can I build an AI assistant that runs entirely on my laptop?" became AI-Companion. "Are emojis actually valid syntax?" became emojinterp. Building something is usually the fastest way to understand it properly — faster than reading about it, at least.

Right now I'm most interested in local AI — systems where your data never leaves your machine. There's something more honest about that. No API keys, no rate limits, no one storing your queries. Just a model running on your hardware.

I'm based in UK and always open to interesting work or conversations. If you're building something unusual, I'd like to hear about it.
